A novel growth-inducible gene that encodes a protein with a conserved cold-shock domain.

چکیده
We have isolated a cDNA that encodes a novel member of the Y-box binding protein family, termed as RYB-a (Rat Y-box Binding protein-a). RYB-a is a 31 kDa protein that contains a conserved cold-shock domain and an amino acid alignment similar to those of charge zipper proteins. Expression of RYB-a mRNA was highly abundant in the skeletal muscle, spleen, and fetal liver. The expression is very low in new-born and adult livers, suggesting its expression is under developmental regulation. In addition, the expression of RYB-a mRNA was induced in the liver during regeneration and by stimulation of quiescent fibroblast cells with serum. Induction in the fibroblasts was inhibited by treating the cell with a specific tyrosine kinase inhibitor, genistein or by detachment of cell-adhesion. Since both treatments are known to inhibit G1 cells to enter S phase, RYB-a gene is thought to be a member of growth-inducible genes.

Prokaryotic Expression of Influenza A virus Nucleoprotein Fused to Mycobacterial Heat Shock Protein70
Background and Aims: The novel approaches in influenza vaccination have targeted more conserved viral proteins such as nucleoprotein (NP) to provide cross protection against all serotypes of influenza A viruses. Influenza specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) are able to lyse influenza-infected cells by recognition of NP, the major target molecule in virus for CTL responses. On the other hand,...
متن کاملBioinformatics Genome-Wide Characterization of the WRKY Gene Family in Sorghum bicolor
The WRKY gene family encodes a large group of transcription factors that regulate genes involved in plant response to biotic and abiotic stresses. Sorghum is a notable grain and forage crop in semi-arid regions because of its unusual tolerance against hot and dry environments. We identified a set of 85 WRKY genes in the S. bicolor genome and classified them into three groups (I–III). Among the ...
متن کاملCloning and molecular characterization of TaERF6, a gene encoding a bread wheat ethylene response factor
Ethylene response factor proteins are important for regulating gene expression under different stresses. Different isoforms for ERF have previously isolated from bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and related genera and called from TaERF1 to TaERF5. We isolated, cloned and molecular characterized a novel one based on TdERF1, an isoform in durum wheat (Tri...

Background: Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis are major human pathogens of increasing importance due to the spread of antibiotic resistance. Novel potential targets for therapeutic antibodies are products of staphylococcal genes expressed during human infection. Previously, the secreted and surface-exposed proteins among seroreactive antigens have been discovered. Furthermore...
متن کاملIdentification and transcriptional control of Caulobacter crescentus genes encoding proteins containing a cold shock domain.
The cold shock proteins are small peptides that share a conserved domain, called the cold shock domain (CSD), that is important for nucleic acid binding. The Caulobacter crescentus genome has four csp genes that encode proteins containing CSDs. Three of these (cspA, cspB, and cspC) encode peptides of about 7 kDa and are very similar to the cold shock proteins of other bacteria. Analysis by reve...
